Grown on Sagebrush Vineyard, nestled up against the mountains on the southeast side of Black Sage Rd. Deep sand with a wide gravel bar that runs down the hillside to the bottom of the sloping vineyard. Planted in 2004. This vineyard has been in organic transition for 4 years now, with a focus on soil regeneration and building organic matter. Hand harvested on September 7th. The grapes were pressed whole cluster, then the juice was left in an open top tank to settle overnight to pick up some oxygen. The next day the juice was racked into three 2 year old French oak barrels, and one neutral barrel. Ambient fermentation took place over the course of 2 months in barrel. It was racked and left on fine lees in barrel for another 6 months.
